We run one of the largest air quality testing operations in the country, and our team is experienced at using real time gas analysers to test for gaseous pollutants such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. All our gas analysers are USEPA approved and comply with methods stated in the National Environmental Standards. Tests for these pollutants are often carried out for customers who need to meet National Environmental Standards or for compliance monitoring.

Scope of test

Sulphur Dioxide (SO2)

This pollutant gas is commonly found in the atmosphere and is usually found in higher concentrations in urban and industrial locations. In urban areas, burning fossil fuels emits sulphur dioxide into the atmosphere where it can accumulate and cause adverse health effects

Nitrogen Oxides (NO, NO2 NOx

Nitrogen Oxides are a family of poisonous reactive gases. These gases form when fuel is burned at elevated temperatures. NOx air pollution comes from motor vehicles, trucks, and other vehicles such as construction equipment

Carbon Monoxide (CO)

This gas is clear and odourless. Smoke and exhaust fumes from motor vehicles often contain carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a common air pollutant

Ozone (O3

This gas occurs both in the Earth's upper atmosphere and at ground level. Ozone at ground level is a harmful air pollutant and has adverse health effects on people and the environment

Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S)

This is a pollutant gas that is formed from natural gas extraction and processing, and natural emissions. It is also formed during bacterial decomposition of human and animal wastes and is present in emissions from sewage treatment facilities and landfills

Fluoride (F)

This is a pollutant gas that is released whenever the clays or ores containing it are heated. Fluorides are well known air pollutants and their harmful effects on plant life have received much attention since the late 90s
