Dr You-Sing Yong, Operations Manager
Qualification - PhD (Chemistry), MBA
Dr Yong has been with Watercare Laboratory Services since 2001. Prior to joining Watercare Laboratory Services, he carried out research and development in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He has significant experience in chemical manufacturing facilities and analytical consulting laboratories. He is responsible for the ongoing and long term operations of the laboratory. His expertise in environmental chemistry, water analysis, wastewater analysis and business acumen ensures Dr Yong can assist clients in achieving their objectives.
Organic Chemistry Department
Dr Peter Boniface, Head of Department
Qualification - Ph.D. (Chemistry)
Dr Boniface joined Watercare Laboratory Services in 1998 as the Head of the Organic Chemistry Department. He has extensive experience in the analysis of water and environmental samples and the use of various analytical techniques. Dr Boniface has carried out considerable method development to support capabilities of the laboratory. His main role is overseeing the daily operations and development of the organic chemistry department. Dr Boniface is an IANZ Technical Expert Assessor and a Court Expert Witness.
Inorganic and General Chemistry Department
Dr Stephen Money, Head of Department
Qualification - PhD (Chemistry)
Dr Money joined Watercare Laboratory Services in 2001 following his post-doctoral work in ultra-low detection of metals in environmental samples at the Louisiana University Marine Consortium Laboratory, USA. He was responsible for the implementation of ultra-trace metal testing facilities and ICP-MS technology at Watercare Services Limited. Dr Money now oversees the inorganic and general Chemistry departments and is also an IANZ Technical Expert Assessor.
Dr Neil Leat, Head of Department
Qualification – PhD (Biochemistry)
Dr Leat joined Watercare in 2019 following various technical and commercial roles in South Africa.In 2009 he joined Rand Water, the largest water utility in South Africa, as a Senior Scientist in their microbiology testing facility. While at Rand Water he was a member of the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) technical committee on water quality and the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) technical committee on water testing. He is now responsible for the day to day operation of the Microbiology laboratory and the team.
Air Quality Department
Mr Phil Dobson, Head of Department
Qualification – MPhil, BSc (Hons) Chemistry
Mr Dobson joined Watercare in 2012 as Marketing Executive responsible for the sales and marketing team. He then moved to take up the position of Head of Department for our Air Quality business in 2016. He has 15 years of experience in the European chemical industry, mostly with the global multinational, Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). He has completed a number of technical and commercial roles during his career and now provides management, strategy and a commercial focus for the air quality business.
Quality Assurance Department
Mr David Chuk, Acting Compliance Manager
Qualification - MSc (Chemistry)
Professional Memberships – QMS 2000 Lead Auditor and International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) in UK. David brings to Watercare a broad experience and expertise in quality assurance and aspects of virology. Prior to joining Watercare, Mr Chuk held several senior quality and auditing roles at Immuno-Chemical Products, Bureau Veritas Certification Body and SGS. Mr Chuk oversees the quality assurance function at Watercare Laboratory Services.
Sales & Marketing Department
Mr Bruce Winter, Sales Manager
Qualification – B.Ag, PG Dip Bus Admin
Mr Winter joined Watercare in 2017 as Marketing Executive responsible for the sales and marketing team. He has over 20 years of experience in the oil and chemical industry, mostly with the global multinational, Shell Oil. He has completed a number of technical and commercial roles during his career and now provides sales and marketing strategy and implementation for the business.
